I've been a Simpsons fan for a long time. About as long as I've been playing guitar. But here's the deal: I've been influenced by Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Frank Zappa, and Bob Marley. I've also been very influenced by Bill Hicks and George Carlin in my last 5-10 years. So, you can imagine that my interest in The Simpsons has been decimated over recent years, as I see the picture getting bigger and bigger. Now, the fact that I saw the lyrics to this song not long before I saw the Simpsons' parody of it makes it hard for me to simply laugh at the parody. Understand the lyrics, and that they're trying to sell this to our 14 y.o. kids... and acknowledge how FUCKED UP the whole thing is! It's time we win this spiritual war, and soon, I hope...

Yeah to be honest, I've stopped watching the show (it had its time), but I thought the video was cute. Now that you say it, maybe not such a good pick.

Sigger's Law

  • Sigger's Law: "As any discussion on terrorism grows longer, the probability of attributing terrorists with nuclear weapons (or similar destructive capabilities) approaches 1." Corollary to Sigger's Law: "Once such an observation is made, the discussion is finished and whoever mentioned terrorist possession of nuclear weapons has automatically lost whatever debate was in progress."
