SHORTER VERBATIM Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC): "I believe we have more to fear from the potential of that [health care] bill passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country."
Does that mean we need to have a color-coded advisory scale for the state of health care in the United States?

Well...in a way the old bat is right. You're far more likely to die of a medical mistake in a hospital of any kind than you are from terrorism. Medicine, socialized or not, is much more of a threat to you than old Osama.
Realistically, measures to reduce the prevalence and severity of such hospital errors would be a much better investment than most of what passes for "counterterrorism."

I would disagree - if she said the CURRENT health care was worse than terrorism, then I'd agree. But she said the PROPOSED health care would be worse than terrorism, and that's what people feared. I think she really was pushing the crazy button.
Although I would agree with you that much of the terrorism funding would be better applied to public health - given a better structure than what exists now.

Fearmongering is really a poison for the society.
It's the media's job to block it and it's the voter's role to punish it.
The it's the new politician's job to kick it out of the agenda and block the fearmonger lobbyists.
Reality checks like CNN International's checks whether certain assertions were true (in cooperation with a no-partisan NGO) should get more emphasis and time on air/lines in newspaper front pages.

I think she was right on the money. This healthcare boondoggle they're trying to shove down our throats will be a financial millstone around our necks and for what? Many already have insurance and true, they supposedly will be able to keep it BUT their taxes will still go up to pay for this mass vote-buy. It will do far more damage to the system over the long run than a dozen 9/11s. Anybody who thinks Obamacare means "free" healthcare needs their heads examined. All it is is a cynical attempt to buy votes at the expense of contributing members of society.
