Early this morning, a huge meteoroid hit a residential area in Silver Springs, Maryland. The firemen are still battling blazes, and the police are keeping people out of the impact area. It's strange... I see that there are reports of meteor strikes all over the country, such as this one in New Jersey.
There are some wild reports about a large cylindrical container in the impact area, but I think that's just crazy talk, considering that only Faux News is reporting such instances.
UPDATE: CNN has a shot of the New Jersey impact area.
UPDATE II: Russia, Romania, other nations are hit.

Love it!
My father has told me about Orson Welles's broadcast. He and my mother were listening, with another couple, in their home in New Jersey. The two guys decided to buck the traffic to check out what was happening down in Princeton. Didn't get there, though.
