I have heard news organizations interviewing "bioterrorist experts" for their views on the swine flu. There is this school of thought that bioterrorism and pandemic flues are similar topics because medics are involved in both cases. That's a really poor policy position to take. I'm not going to comment about the swine flu, because I'm not a medic. But I'm not going to listen to a "bioterrorist expert" tell me about pandemic flues either.



I thought there was a considerable amount of overlap via public health survellence. As in some bioweapon not being first detected by some electronic gadget but by some state health official suddenly getting reports of some novel illness. If you can comment on anthrax you should feel free to comment on influenza.
