Kotare at The Strategist has found a very unique list of "ghost towns" across the world. The photos are truly interesting and haunting. These photos, taken in the former town of Prypiat (outside Chernobyl), jarred this feeling of recognition with me. I am reasonably sure that this scene was used in "Call of Duty 4" where the player is part of a two-man British sniper team, trying to get exfiltrated as the Russian military pours in on them. Fascinating. The game is so realistic, it's as if I've been there, seeing the picture.
Also of interest in his post, a list of the world's five worst advisers. My favorite villain, Doug Feith, is on the list. As Nelson would say, HA-ha!

Thanks for the link, Jason.

Check this out.
I have always been fascinated by old, abandoned places.

That COD4 sniper level (crawling in grass) is hands down the most frustrating thing I've ever met in a game. Took me about a week to figure it out.

I still haven't beaten CoD4 because I'm still stuck by the ferris wheel waiting for my EVAC, and I refuse to lower the difficult level from the highest setting (I. WANT. THAT. ACHIEVEMENT.)

Sam - I'm also at the ferris wheel on the high setting :)
Damned hard level, just can't seem to take them out fast enough. Of course, it's insane that we have to stick in one position, even if it is the dust-off spot. Should have an alternative LZ and the ability to E&E out, hide in a building, get out of that big open space.
