Casual Fridays

Af_womenWhile the C-5 was turning over its engines, a female crewman gave the G.I.s on board the usual information regarding seat belts, emergency exits, etc.

Finally, she said, "Now sit back and enjoy your trip while your captain, Judith Campbell, and crew take you safely to Afghanistan."

An old Master Sergeant sitting in the eighth row thought to himself, "Did I hear her right? Is the captain a woman?"

When the attendant came by he said "Did I understand you right? Is the captain a woman?"

"Yes," said the Attendant, "In fact, this entire crew is female."

"My God," he said, "I wish I had  two double scotch and sodas. I don't know what to think with only women up there in the cockpit."

"That's another thing, Sergeant," said the crew member, "We no longer call it the cock pit."

"It's the Box Office."

THAT was AWESOME!!! (sorry, watched Incredibles with my boy last night)

Seriously, made my day. Box Office indeed!

Hardy, har har!

Ok women fine... but is any of that crew out of school yet?

Interviewed by the BBC, 29-year-old helicopter pilot Fl Lt (Kate) Diacon of RAF helicopter Air Sea Rescue said that she has been at Anglesey, north Wales, for the past year after a three-year tour of duty at RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland.
"I'm one of the lads", she said.
Fl Lt (Kate) Diacon said that she has clocked up more than 50 rescue missions from RAF Valley.
"The boys don't treat me any differently and I certainly don't feel different. I would say that's general across the air force.

"I've never had any problems from any of my peers. As long as you do the job, you are accepted and there is no difference.

"I have been here a year, I have probably done 50-60 rescues.
Kate's Commanding Officer Sdn Ldr Stanley said: "It's nothing unusual to have two or three female pilots in search-and-rescue now, though we don't yet have any female winch men or radar operators."
