The Danger Room

Those of you who have visited DefenseTech probably already know that Noah Shachtman has moved to a new blog on Wired magazine called "The Danger Room." Well, when Noah asked if I was interested in joining him, I jumped ship also. I've enjoyed participating on DefenseTech, and I know I'll enjoy continuing to work with Noah on his new site as well. I'll still be visiting DefenseTech, for sure - one can never have enough intel on the military-industrial complex.

To whet your appetites, let me direct you to this hilarious YouTube video that Noah borrowed from RobotEconomist. But first I have to set up the scene.

  • Finding gear to imitate proposed Land Warrior equipment - $50
  • A camcorder to document a spoof - $500
  • Having a multi-billion dollar defense program mocked by the soldiers who have to carry the heavy equipment - priceless

I've been waiting for years for someone, anyone, to say those things the way that Odom did. It was incredible to listen to.
